Feb 23, 2012 · The LP head doesn't have the breather tube going from the back of the head to the air cleaner and the oil circulating loop over the valves. This head is really in better shape than the LP head, so I will probably use it. Either way, I need new valves, which are both 5 15/32" long.

IH didn't change the total 25 degree advance on a 400 gas when fire craters were installed. Other models like M and SM fire crater kits used 22 degrees total advance. IH preferred the total advance be set at full RPM and idle advance fall wherever unless the distributor was warn.
